You’ve been doodling since before you could spell, but despite your innate talent, your drawings still don’t come out how you envision. What’s missing? The science. The most famous artists of all time invested years studying anatomy, light, shadow, and perspective to be able to create their legendary artwork.

Academic drawing is the foundation of all art forms- drawing, illustration, painting or sculpting — just like you’d learn in professional of art school. This course is what separates amateur artists from the pros.

OUR INSTRUCTOR
Meet Chani
Judowitz
Hi, I’m Chani. For the past 12 years, I’ve immersed myself in the world of illustration and drawing, learning, teaching, and exploring every aspect of this incredible field. From Disney animators to years of intense study under top Israeli artists, I have poured countless hours in learning this craft. Now, after all these years, it’s my pleasure to bring my knowledge to the Jewish world. Some of my work, such as The Kichel’s in Mishpacha Magazine, The Circle Magazine, and children’s books Torah Avenue and Living Emunah, are projects that I’m grateful for the opportunity to have created.
And the ultimate nachas? Empowering a new generation of frum illustrators and artists with this knowledge too! Honestly, when I look at this course and see my students’ work, I wish I had a course like this when I was starting out on my own journey!

Questions? Let’s answer them.
How many classes are in the course?
The course consists of weekly lessons, each broken down into several parts. Every lesson covers the science behind the topic, practical application, and includes an assignment for hands-on practice. Lessons typically last between 1 to 1.5 hours.
Is there a lot of homework?
Every week, there will be practice assignments to apply the techniques you learn in class. We all know that more practice is better, but the suggested minimum time for practicing is one hour a week. However, it’s up to each student. There will be plenty of opportunities for practice throughout the digital illustration part of the course as well.
How well do I have to draw to join this course?
To join this course, you don’t need to be an expert at drawing. You should have an interest in drawing and enjoy creating images of people and objects. Your drawings don’t need to be perfect at this stage. If your drawings aren’t turning out the way you want them to, and you believe your work could be improved, then this course is designed to help you learn how to draw accurately and correctly while addressing the techniques you’ve been struggling with.
I’m a total beginner, is this course for me?
This course is ideal for students who already love to doodle and draw but feel frustrated when their work doesn’t turn out as you’d like. However, if you have no experience with drawing, this may not be suited for you.
I’ve been drawing for years, and I’ve taken other classes. Will I still benefit from this?”
This course is different from many other art classes out there. Other classes often focus on the mediums like watercolors, painting, charcoal, etc. We don’t focus on the medium but rather on the technique. It’s about paper and pencil and how to draw accurately
What if I don’t have time to practice? Will I still make progress?
You’ll still gain knowledge, but it’s the practice that takes your work to the next level.
Is there a live component to the course? Will I get to ask questions?
There are monthly live sessions with Chani Judowitz, where you can submit your assignments, have them reviewed, and ask questions.
